Project Overview:
“Riveter” was the first time Duckspeak had recorded a full album together as a band and with it brought a more electric instrumentation. Lyrically the songs were quite personal, with a soundscape that included a number of natural sounds including various bird calls. When trying to decide on a design direction for the packaging I found myself wandering around worn out buildings in a New Jersey park. Inspired by the way nature was eroding the manmade materials in the area I photographed a number of worn metallic textures to portray the complicated beauty that can be found when nature and humans co-exist.

Digital Singles
Two digital-only singles were released leading up to the album’s release. For “Worn Black” I wanted to portray the darker tone of the track from the rest of the LP, so I went with a more inverted style of the album cover. For “There Will Come A Day” I decided to use a a more natural photo I had taken at the same site as the rest of the industrial-themed album packaging, adding a warping effect to better match the contrasting lyrics and tone of the song.
