Dreamland

Project Overview:

In 2025 Jessica Gutierrez had an idea she wanted brought to life. She had written the script for a children’s book titled “Dreamland”, in dedication to her newly born son Rio, and she wanted a physical version made for his first birthday. The story of Dreamland follows a child as they explore a magical land of dreams where anything they imagine can be reality. During their journey they float down rivers on giant lilypads, see mountains made of gold, and meet many cute friendly creatures.

For the design of the characters and environments we wanted something with a soft and round feeling, creating a world that felt safe and inviting. For the color we decided to use a digital watercolor style to continue with the soft aesthetic but additionally giving things an other-wordly flow.
