2017 | Comedy / Discussion | Podcast
Project Overview:
In 2017 a group of friends decided to start a podcast based around video games and the various ways they effected their lives, a show which would continue for over 8 years and 205 episodes. Each episode was structured around a topic found in the gaming space and what began as a round-table discussion about the industry quickly also became a comedy show about the impact games can have on our personal lives and culture at large.
As the Creative Director and Audio Producer for everything our group made, I was tasked with coming up with consistent imagery that could be used across audio streaming services, video streaming services, live events, merchandise, and more. There was an obvious gaming aesthetic we wanted to lean in to, but as we didn’t always discuss the latest trends the group wanted something that felt more nostalgic to the earlier years of video games. In the beginning this had me leaning more into a pixel art direction, but as time went on it eventually grew in to something fully original to the brand.

Episode Cards
After the first year of the show it was decided that every episode should get its own special image to help promote the show on social media. From 2018 to 2024 I created a total of 183 images in a range of digital styles including pixel art, watercolor splatter, sticker, stained glass, neon, comic, and gouache.
